Extra care for newborns

When your baby is born at Emerson’s Birthing Center, we offer: 
  • The optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding through our designation as a Baby-Friendly Hospital
  • A special care nursery staffed by pediatric hospitalists overseen by a Mass General neonatologist

Exceptional inpatient care for hospitalized children

When your child is hospitalized at Emerson, we provide 24/7 coverage by board-certified pediatric hospitalists who monitor and coordinate every aspect of your child’s care.

Our Child Life program helps children and families cope with the challenges of hospitalization.

As a parent, you are welcome on the inpatient pediatric unit 24 hours a day, your meals are complimentary, and the nurses encourage your participation in your child’s care.



Innovative Pediatric Intervention Team (PIT)

Because we care about your child’s emotional health, our multidisciplinary Pediatric Intervention Team provides support for children with anxiety related to stressful exams and procedures.  

 

Child-friendly emergency and urgent care

Emerson Hospital’s emergency department always has pediatric emergency medicine specialists available, and our child-friendly urgent care centers welcome families.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Our fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon treats upper and lower extremity fractures, foot and ankle injuries, among many others.
