Deductions are taken on a pre-tax basis, and coverage is effective on the first of the month following an employee's start date.

Dental Insurance

Coverage is provided by BlueCross BlueShield, Dental Blue.  It covers Preventative at 100%, Basic Restorative at 80% and Major Restorative at 50%. Deductions are taken on a pre-tax basis. Coverage is effective on the first of the month following an employee's start date.

Earned Time/Extended Sick Leave

Emerson Hospital recognizes the benefit that employees derive from compensated time away from the workplace.  Therefore, the Hospital provides an integrated program of compensated time-off called the Earned Time Program, to be used for all absences including vacations, holidays, sick leave and personal days.  Eligible employees may schedule, within departmental guidelines, time-off for their own personal use.  Earned Time provides employees with flexibility in the use of time-off, while assuring the Hospital that most absences are planned in advance.  There may also be situations where employees need to be paid for unscheduled time-off.
