New radiologist joins Emerson Hospital
(CONCORD, Mass., March 3, 2008)--Eric J. Sax, MD, MBA, recently joined the radiology service at Emerson Hospital.
Radiology is an area of medicine that enables physicians to see inside the human body in order to diagnose and monitor disease. In his role, Dr. Sax will join a radiology team that uses the most advanced technology available to generate three-dimensional images that enable quicker, more accurate diagnoses. “I pride myself on providing the highest-quality, professional, diagnostic radiology interpretations and interventional procedures to my patients with commitment and compassion,” said Dr. Sax.
Dr. Sax received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at Boston City Hospital and a fellowship in nuclear medicine at Boston Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Sax is board-certified in nuclear medicine and radiology (diagnostic). He received his Masters of Business Administration from Brandeis University.
Dr. Sax, an assistant professor of radiology at Tufts Medical School, has been published in medical journals, including Radiology, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, and Yearbook in Nuclear Medicine. He is active in teaching, presenting grand rounds and other conferences to physicians, nurses, and technological staff. Active in both the Massachusetts Radiological Society and the American College of Radiology (ACR), Dr. Sax has lobbied at the state and federal level on behalf of the ACR, guided the profession’s policies and procedures as a councilor for the ACR, and lead the state’s ACR chapter as a past president and a member of the executive committee of the Massachusetts Radiological Society.
