Tenth annual Emerson Hospital Golf Tournament to tee off on September 15 at Nashawtuc Country Club
(CONCORD, Mass., April 16, 2008)--The Emerson Hospital Auxiliary will hold its tenth annual Emerson Hospital Golf Tournament on Monday, September 15, 2008, at the Nashawtuc Concord Country Club in Concord, Mass. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, which supports continuing education for nurses and other frontline caregivers, the pediatric intervention team, and specialized wheelchairs.
Tournament participants include corporate teams with pledge levels between $20,000 and $1,500. Sponsors from last year's tournament include Donoghue Barrett & Singal, Sodexho Health Care Services, Bank of America, Delphi Construction, By Design Construction, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Royal Institutional Services, Welch Foods, DiGiorgio Associates, the Emerson emergency department, Maugel Architects, Pediatrics West, and Morrison Mahoney LLP.
The golf tournament is the Auxiliary’s premier fundraising event. It has raised more than $650,000 for Emerson since the tournament’s inception. Emerson Hospital is a full-service, non-profit regional hospital known for its outstanding medical and surgical specialists, as well as excellent nursing care and patient-centered services. Registration for the 18-hole golf tournament will begin at 10:00 am with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm using a modified scramble format. There will be a variety of prizes awarded throughout the day, including longest drive, closest to the pin, as well as a grand prize for a hole-in-one on the 17th hole. The day will conclude with a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, a raffle, and a silent auction.
