Our experience at Emerson created beauty in what was otherwise trauma

I came to the urgent care facility on January 24, 2006 with my four-year-old son, who had severely injured his face and neck in a fall. I had my three-year-old daughter with me to manage as well.

Kay from the pediatric intervention team was there before my husband simply to ask me how she could help. We had to wait five hours for surgery based on my son's last meal so he could endure anesthesia. Kay was able to get him a VCR with his favorite videos, took care of my daughter, and got me some food.

When we got to pediatrics, her colleague Mallory was there to do anything for us. She got my son his favorite candy and kept telling me I was doing a great job.  There's no way to say how grateful I am to these ladies, and aspects of our experience like this create beauty in what was otherwise just pure trauma.
