I refuse to go to any other hospital

Fifteen years ago this April 1st my baby brother was born.

At the time of his birth I was 15.

While my mother told me his arrival would have no effect on my life and not much would really change, the nurses at Emerson were honest. They explained that my life would never be the same again, especially because I had been an only child. They told me all of the not so good things about having a new baby around. But they also told me how wonderful it would be. Having never liked the idea of this baby, I refused to believe there would be anything good. But they were right.

My baby brother was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Had it not been for the honesty and compassion of the nurses, I doubt the transition from only child to big sister would have gone so well. They didn't just show concern for my mom and the baby; they cared about everyone who would be part of the baby's life. This experience was the first of many I've had at Emerson. Ever since that time, I refuse to go to any other hospital. That type of service is hard to find anywhere.
