Emerson Hospital corporators play an important role in connecting residents of our community to the hospital. Their activities range from supporting grassroots promotion of hospital services to serving as a ready source of volunteers to fit the hospital’s many needs, from governance to resource development. Below are recent corporator updates.
Greetings from Chris Schuster, President and CEO
Our fall season is off to a great start. I’m happy to report that our 16th annual Emerson Hospital Auxiliary Golf Tournament was a huge success. First, it was held on a beautiful fall day; second, the event was sold out; and third, we surpassed net $1 million raised over the last 16 years. For those corporators who came out to enjoy the day and support the hospital, thank you!
The Verrill Farm Harvest Festival, another annual event that directly benefits Emerson—specifically the coping kits used by our wonderful Pediatric Intervention Team and much appreciated by families—was held on an equally beautiful day. We appreciate the Verrill Farm team and everyone who makes the festival a great time for one and all.
These events, and so many others, along with our Annual Appeal, added up to fundraising success for fiscal year 2014. Thanks to the generosity of so many, especially our corporators, and a matching gift from a devoted donor, we ended the fiscal year having raised $1.1 million dollars. Needless to say, philanthropic support is important to Emerson’s financial health.
I look forward to seeing you at two fundraising events run by our auxiliary and coming up in December: the Tree of Lights on December 4 and the Cookies by the Pound Sale on December 8.
Enjoy the remainder of the fall, and thank you for all you do to support Emerson Hospital!
