Corporator Updates

Ambassadors to the hospital. Members of the Emerson family.

Emerson Hospital corporators play an important role in connecting residents of our community to the hospital. Their activities range from supporting grassroots promotion of hospital services to serving as a ready source of volunteers to fit the hospital’s many needs, from governance to resource development. Below are recent corporator updates.

Greetings from Chris Schuster, President and CEO

We have been very busy during this lovely Fall season.  We have lots to report on the successful events that have occurred and some that are coming up.  I am pleased to announce that our Annual Appeal, which is the cornerstone of the hospital’s fundraising program, exceeded the goal of $1.1 million by reaching $1.18 million.  Many of you contributed to this success, and I am grateful for your continued support of our hospital.

The annual Verrill Farm Festival is a favorite, and this year’s event was outstanding.  Stephen Verrill, a Concord corporator, hosted the Harvest Festival, which raised $15,000 for the purchase of pediatric coping kits.  Thank you, Steve, and all our volunteers!

The Emerson Hospital Auxiliary recently held its annual meeting and voted in a new slate of officers: Sally Savelle, president; Julie Turner, president-elect; Carol Wipper, secretary; Melissa Cruz, treasurer; Karen Carper, vice president of marketing; and Karen McCarthy, vice president of membership.  Congratulations to all!
By the time you are reading this, many of you will have danced the night away at the Have a Heart, Have a Ball Gala.  It was a huge success, raising more than $480,000 to support inpatient and outpatient cardiac care at Emerson.

If you weren't able to make any of the aforementioned events, I hope to see you at our annual holiday events, so mark your calendar!  The Auxiliary’s Tree of Lights event will be held on Thursday, December 5, 4:30-5:30 pm.  Our popular Cookies by the Pound Sale is scheduled for Monday, December 9, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm!  Also, be sure to visit our Gift Shop for all your holiday shopping needs.  The selection is terrific, the prices are reasonable, and most important—every purchase helps the hospital!

Thanks for all your support!  You all make a difference!
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season!
