3/12/09: Emerson Hospital Auxiliary hosts 33rd annual Pops Concert
The Emerson Hospital Auxiliary will hold its spring Pops Concert on April 4, 2009, at the Walden Performing Arts Center located at 51 Walden Street in Concord. The Concord Band will perform at 8:00 pm. This year, the Concord Band is celebrating its golden anniversary as it welcomes James O’Dell, assistant dean of the Boston Conservatory, as the new music director.
Under the direction of O’Dell, the Concord Band will present a variety of selections and also perform solos. The program includes traditional tunes from Old New England, such as “Boston Liberties,” “Concord,” and selections such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” and the spirited “Dixieland Live” music.
Individual sponsorships for the event are available by donating $35 or more towards the hospital’s scholarship fund. Robert and Mary Kemp of Capital Growth Management and Eric and Denise Haartz of the Haartz Corporation underwrote the event.
This year’s co-chairs are Priscilla Gannon of Wayland and Deborah Locke and Anne Lehmann of Concord.
Tickets for the event are $25 per person and can be purchased at the door or by contacting Anne Lehmann at 978-318-0338 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Emerson Hospital Auxiliary supports the hospital through community awareness, patient support, and fundraising activities. If you are interested in becoming a member or learning about the Auxiliary, contact Karen McCarthy at 978-371-2133.
