10/25/12: Emerson Hospital Presents Hairo Velez of Environmental Services Department with MVP Award
Emerson Hospital recently presented Hairo Velez, a housekeeper in the Environmental Services department, with the Most Valuable People award. The award is part of Emerson’s reward and recognition program, which honors staff for superior job performance.
In the nomination, Velez was praised for his pride in the cleanliness of the Emergency Department, where one co-worker noted “the floors are always sparkling and there is not a speck of dirt.” Another nominator recalled finding Velez cleaning the inside of the elevator because he noticed the walls needed a touch-up. Velez was also described as frequently going above and beyond for his co-workers, such as offering to take their recyclables.
“Hairo is always hard at work,” his co-worker wrote. “He is a true asset to the Emergency Department and Emerson!”
Velez lives in Lawrence.
