10/24/12: Joanna Vallie Joins Emerson Hospital as Nurse Director of Obstetrical Nursing
Joanna Vallie, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM recently joined Emerson Hospital in Concord as nurse director of obstetrical nursing.
A resident of Nashua, N.H., Vallie has spent the last 20 years at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, where she was most recently director of maternal child health. While at St. Joseph, she oversaw a number of administrative and clinical projects, including leading the organization in achieving a Baby Friendly Designation. Previously, Vallie was a per diem nurse at Emerson.
Vallie received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rivier College in Nashua and a master’s degree in nursing health systems management from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville.
The Emerson Hospital Clough Birthing Center features one-on-one nursing care in private, comfortable and secure labor and delivery rooms and private mother-baby recovery rooms. Certified breastfeeding consultants are close at hand, and 24-hour baby care is provided by board-certified pediatricians. The area’s only Special Care Level 2 Nursery is directed by a Massachusetts General Hospital neonatologist; and high-risk pregnancy services, including specialists from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, are also conveniently offered on-site at Emerson.
