11/5/12: Ophthalmologist Matthew Lazzara, MD Joins Emerson Hospital
Ophthalmologist Matthew Lazzara, MD has joined Lexington Eye Associates, Inc. He is on the medical staff of Emerson Hospital.
Dr. Lazzara earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., and he earned his bachelor’s degree in biomechanical engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. He completed an internship at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Ill., a residency in ophthalmology at Tufts New England Eye Center in Boston and a surgical glaucoma fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and University Eye Specialists in Chicago.
Board eligible in ophthalmology, Dr. Lazzara specializes in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, small incision routine and complex cataract surgery and external diseases of the eye. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, New England Ophthalmology Society and Massachusetts Medical Society.
