2/5/09: Neurologist joins Emerson Hospital
Dr. Jeanine Grier Reczek, a neurologist, recently joined Emerson Hospital.
“I am very excited to join the community here,” said Dr. Reczek. “There was a period of time when I was at Harvard that I thought I wanted to do public health, and I went to Egypt to work with the World Health Organization. That experience really solidified for me the dream of being able to practice medicine in a community that I could feel very much a part of and invested in. I am enthusiastic about offering neurological and neuro-oncological care to this community. Patients ultimately want to get the best care they can as close to home as possible and not have to travel for all of their appointments. I think Emerson offers this opportunity to receive excellent care right here in Concord.”
Dr. Reczek completed her undergraduate education at Harvard University. She earned her medical degree and then completed her residency in neurology at Medical University of South Carolina. She returned to Boston for fellowship training in neuro-oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
Most recently, she practiced at Fallon Clinic in Worcester, Mass., where, in addition to general neurology, she started a neuro-oncology clinic for patients with primary and metastatic brain and spine tumors as well as neurological complications of cancer treatments. She also taught in the internal medicine residency program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
In addition to general neurology and neuro-oncology, Dr. Reczek has clinical interests in geriatric issues in neurology, movement disorders, headache, MS, stroke, and seizures.
