8/2/11: New physician joins sleep medicine, pulmonology, and critical care services at Emerson Hospital
Dr. Ramesh Donepudi recently joined the medical staff at Emerson Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Rangaraya Medical College in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Lahey Clinic and a fellowship in sleep disorders at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also trained in the United Kingdom in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine.
He recently completed a fellowship at Lahey Clinic in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Donepudi is Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonology, and sleep medicine. His clinical interests include adolescent sleep medicine and pulmonary hypertension.
"I am delighted to be a part of the Emerson hospital system and look forward to serving Concord and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Donepudi. “I hope to bring in my pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine skills and augment what is already a robust clinical department."
Emerson’s Sleep Disorders Center specializes in diagnosing and treating the full range of sleep problems, including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome and REM behavior disorder. “During the past two decades, we’ve come a long way in understanding sleep and the multitude of systems that interact during sleep,” said Dr. Donepudi, one of four Emerson physicians who specialize in sleep disorders. “There has been an explosion of research in the field, which has led to improved treatment.”
