Laura Howrey's Story
"I was impressed with all the therapists at Emerson..."
I was skiing with my family, hit a mogul the wrong way, tried to make a turn and fell right down. An MRI revealed I tore my ACL as well as my meniscus—the crescent-shaped cartilage in the knee. My orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Paul Re, said that because I’m young and active a surgical repair was the best way to go.
After the surgery, I was anxious to get back to my daily activities: playing tennis, water-skiing and enjoying my six-year old twins. Dr. Re referred me to The Center for Sports Rehabilitation and Specialty Services. My physical therapist, Claire, has expertise in sports medicine rehab. She really worked with me to attain my goal of running a 5K race just six months after my surgery. From the beginning, I had confidence in Claire and could see that she was especially knowledgeable about knees. The Center has all the tools and equipment necessary, but just as important, Claire made the therapy fun. I was impressed with all the therapists at Emerson and have recommended the rehab center to friends.
