Acupressure: Self Help for Cancer Patients and Caregivers

T: 978-287-3349

Acupressure techniques for nausea, pain, fatigue and memory loss: a cancer patient’s guide for hands-on remedies.

This 1 ½ hour session will focus on ways to help lessen the often unwelcome side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation and to improve immunity for future treatment. The first half of the session will go over simple theory, acupressure techniques and ways to fortify the body. During the second half, we will learn how to find relevant points and then practice these important locations with a partner. Handouts will be provided.

Our goal is to improve how you feel as you go through the rigors of treatment and teach you simple techniques to improve your quality of life.  Care-givers are most welcome to attend this seminar not only as a second pair of eyes and ears but also as participants in learning helpful acupressure techniques and points.

Making Peace with Anxiety

T: 978-287-3349

Dealing with cancer, as a patient, family member or caregiver can produce tremendous amounts of anxiety. This workshop and the practice session that accompanies it introduce the ten best, research-based ways to deal with the classic signs of anxiety such as obsessive worrying, heart pumping, tight stomach, and not being able to think clearly. In these two sessions, you will learn how to accept and calm anxious states, understand better the fears that underlie them, and develop ways to turn anxious energy into constructive action.

Participating in both sessions is highly recommended. The second session reinforces methods introduced in session one.  Further, it addresses how to identify and overcome obstacles to practicing better self care.
