Vice president of patient care services/chief nursing officer

Kevin Whitney, RN, MA, CNAA,
is vice president of patient care services/chief nursing officer at Emerson Hospital.

The position is responsible for the delivery of advanced, quality patient care throughout the Emerson health system.

Whitney began his career with Emerson in 1990 as an EMT-paramedic and later transitioned to a nursing role. Since that time, he has served the hospital as a nurse in the emergency department, as an administrative supervisor, as an associate nurse manager and nurse manager in the emergency department and as director of nursing services.

Whitney earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Framingham State College. He is an active member of the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives and has also been a nursing advisory board member to both Middlesex Community College and University of Massachusetts Lowell.
