Nursing Quality

Emerson nurses are committed to caring for you and your family. Nurses provide each patient with safe and state-of–the-art care. We accomplish this in the comfort and convenience of your own community.

Our nurses are familiar faces: We are your neighbors, your friends, and your family members. When we need care, we too choose Emerson as our hospital.

The Nursing Department at Emerson Hospital strives to enhance patient:

  • safety
  • comfort
  • satisfaction
  • education

Because quality patient care is our top priority, the Nursing Department created the Nursing Quality Council, which is made up of the nurses who take care of you. These nurses work in the following areas:

The purpose of the Nursing Quality Council is to review and monitor the results of the care we provide in order to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The quality of the nursing care that you receive has a direct effect on your recovery from a hospital stay. There is ongoing national research and measures that guide us in achieving our nursing vision and mission.

“Making a difference for our patients and their loved ones through excellence in providing care” is Emerson Hospital’s nursing philosophy. As part of our ongoing quality improvement activities, nurses participate in projects and are active on committees. We review information and compare our work to proven “best practice” strategies.

Our Nursing Quality initiatives are closely linked to

  • the Nursing Department’s strategic plan
  • Emerson Hospital’s strategic plan
  • best practice nursing care as identified through nursing literature
