Physiatry is a specialized area of rehabilitation medicine involving the diagnosis and coordination of non-surgical treatments for neurological and musculoskeletal disorders. Physiatrists are physicians who specialize in managing complex conditions such as head injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, back pain and carpal tunnel sundrome.
Emerson's Physiatry Services are part of our out-patient rehabilitation program. Inpatients are seen by our physiatrist in the hospital during their stay.
