Gynecologic Surgery
Emerson’s gynecology staff include skilled surgeons who treat conditions that affect young women, women in their childbearing years and post-menopausal women. They specialize in minimally invasive surgery—procedures that use small incisions and are associated with less pain and a quicker recovery than traditional surgery. In most cases, no hospital stay is required so that the patient may safely recover at home. Many types of gynecologic cancer surgery are performed at Emerson Hospital with consultative services of two gynecologic oncologists who are affiliated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The gynecology staff at Emerson offer treatment for a range of conditions, including:
- Abnormal menstrual bleeding
- Uterine fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Infertility
- Tubal pregnancy
- Conditions related to menopause
- Pelvic pain
- Ovarian cysts
- Gynecologic cancer
- Urinary incontinence
