Otolaryngology Surgery (ear, nose and throat)
Emerson Hospital’s otolaryngology staff are experts at diagnosing and treating disorders of the ear, nose and sinuses, face, throat and neck. Many procedures can be performed as minimally invasive surgery—through small incisions, which results in less pain and a quicker recovery than traditional surgery. Emerson’s otolaryngology surgeons use the latest technology including lasers to remove tissue and control bleeding. They offer the following treatments:
- Ear surgery: placement of ear tubes, repair of perforated eardrums
- Nose and sinus surgery: fractures, deviated septum, chronic sinus infection
- Throat and larynx: removal of tonsils and adenoids, surgery for sleep apnea and snoring
- Head and neck: removal of thyroid, tumors and lymph nodes
- Pediatric surgery: including for ear, nose and throat problems; and hearing, snoring and sinus problems.
