Services Offered
The Emerson Hospital chaplain provides comprehensive pastoral care to patients, Monday through Friday, as identified by census and referrals. For Catholic patients, the chaplain determines their sacramental needs on a daily basis, and collaborates with priests, who provide 24 hour “on call” emergency coverage/sacramental ministry.
The Anointing of the Sick is available for patients who are critically ill, and those who will be undergoing surgery.
The chaplain arranges for a priest to come in to the hospital to administer the Sacrament of the Sick.
Holy Communion is distributed every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Chaplain services extend to the patients of all faiths, and clergy of any faith can be contacted upon request.
