Primary care physicians typically refer patients to the Kidney Stone Treatment Center urologist when patients complain of stone-related symptoms. In some instances, stones are incidentally found on an unrelated ultrasound or x-ray test. Referrals to the Center's nephrologist and endocrinologist are made for chronic stone formers interested in determining the cause and preventing recurrence of kidney stones.
