Townsend Family Welcomes Newborn Daughter On Father’s Day

6/25/2015

For a Townsend family, Father’s Day was made extra special this year as they welcomed their second child, a daughter, born at Emerson Hospital. Kylie Nicole was born to Jill and John Bourn on Sunday, June 21 at 11:55 p.m., weighing in at six pounds four ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long.  She joins big sister Kali who was born at Emerson nearly eight years ago.

“She was due on June 30 and I had a feeling that she would be born on Father's Day. It's very fun, what could be better?" says Kylie's father, John. Typically on Father's Day the family spends special time together, this year it became even more special as they welcomed their second child.

“I feel like you couldn't get better care than at Emerson," explains Jill. "I was able to hold Kylie right after she was born and she stayed with us for a while. Nobody rushed us.” Jill is a pediatric medical assistant at Acton Medical Associates, an adult and pediatric primary care practice serving patients in Littleton, Acton, Harvard and surrounding communities.

Kylie was delivered by Christina Thomas, MD of Concord OB/GYN Associates who was covering for Jill's regular obstetrician at AFA OB/GYN Associates.
