10/8/2015

The Emerson Hospital Auxiliary recently hosted its 17th annual golf tournament at the Nashawtuc Country Club.  The event, which raised more than $60,000, sold out with 144 participants.  Since its inception, the Emerson Hospital Golf Tournament has raised over one million dollars to fund programs and services at Emerson Hospital.

The event included a number of exciting raffles, including an Apple Watch, as well as hole prizes that included a 2015 Jeep Renegade from Acton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for a player achieving a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.

This year’s event featured 36 teams. The overall net winner of the tournament was the foursome of Rick Salmonsen, Bill Tringali, John Jepsen, and Terry Helmetag from Stericycle, with a score of 51.  The top three teams were Sericycle, The Commons in Lincoln, and Citizens Bank.

This year’s Platinum sponsors were Donoghue, Barrett & Singal and Sodexo.  The Gold Level sponsors were N-of-One, The DiGiovanni Family, Middlesex Savings Bank, and MIG Corporation.  The event was chaired by Jennifer Cyrs of Boxborough.  Committee members included Denise Haartz, Leslie Cheney, Jan Kenneally, Lauren Doty, Karen McCarthy, Susan McNeil Spuhler, Betty Ann Killian, and Sally Savelle.

“We are so pleased with the turnout and the generous sponsorships we received for this year’s tournament,” said Jennifer Cyrs, Chair of the Golf Committee.  “All of the proceeds go directly to fund programs that enhance the patient experience at Emerson, such as the Pediatric Intervention Team and equipment for cardiac rehabilitation.”
