Lauren Doty Joins Philanthropy Team at Emerson Hospital

5/7/2015

Lauren Doty has been named the new Major Gifts Officer at Emerson Hospital. In this role, the Bedford resident will identify and cultivate major gift and planned giving prospects and donors.  Reporting to Karl Kussin, Emerson’s Vice President of Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Doty will play a key role in developing and managing programs to grow philanthropic support at Emerson Hospital.

Prior to joining Emerson, Doty was the Director of Annual Giving for Simmons College. There, she was responsible for raising millions of dollars in revenue through creative development programs including leadership giving and direct marketing initiatives.

Previously, she was the Director of Development at the Women’s Lunch Place in Boston where she conducted a capital campaign that raised more than $3 million in less than a year.  Doty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Simmons College and a Masters in Business Administration from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management.

“Lauren is an excellent philanthropy leader who has already secured strong relationships with some of Emerson’s most charitable donors, said Karl Kussin, Vice President of Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer, Emerson Hospital. “She will work hard to cultivate new donors to benefit the hundreds of thousands of people who live in the community and depend on Emerson for all facets of their health care.”

Guided by a volunteer board, the Emerson Health Care Foundation raises millions of dollars annually for facility enhancements, technology investments and clinical advancement through special appeals, fundraising campaigns, the Emerson Hospital Auxiliary and the support of Corporators who serve as ambassadors for the hospital in their local communities.

“For years I have admired Emerson Hospital as the best place to go for health care in the greater community and I am fortunate to have Emerson’s top notch care for my own family,” said Lauren Doty. “I am looking forward to working with the community to raise funds that will enhance the high level of care that people have come to expect at Emerson.”
