New Year Baby Born to Pepperell Family at Emerson Hospital

Milena Corr of Pepperell arrived at Emerson Hospital at 9:00 a.m. on New Year’s Eve for her regularly scheduled check-up, looking ahead to her due date of Jan. 9. She and her husband, William Corr, received a surprise to start the new year when their first child was born at Emerson’s Clough Birthing Center on Jan. 1.

Emily Bearse, a certified nurse-midwife with A.F.A. Obstetrics and Gynecology, P.C., delivered Elise Natalia Corr at 12:49 p.m. She weighed 5 pounds, 11½ ounces and measured 19½ inches.

“She’s our beautiful little peanut. She’s perfect, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Milena, who has worked for nearly four years as an office manager and clinical office coordinator at Emerson – and never considered delivering her baby anywhere else.

“The nurses were amazing. They were on top of it and very calm, asking what I needed and explaining everything along the way,” she added.

“Great staff, great experience,” William agreed.

The couple is reveling in congratulations from family and friends, and extra attention for their specially timed delivery.

“It’s the best way to start the new year,” Milena said.
