Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital – Bethke Names New Medical Director

Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital – Bethke is pleased to introduce two physicians who are new to their roles: James Weitzman, MD, who has been with the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital-Bethke since 2013, and was recently named Medical Director of the Cancer Center, and Elizabeth Bigger, MD, who has joined the team as a hematology/oncology physician.

Dr. Weitzman, a Concord resident, received his medical degree from the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center and completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Tufts-New England Medical Center. His clinical interests include lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, multiple myeloma, benign and malignant hematology.

Dr. Bigger, a Westford resident, earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Duke University Medical Center. Her clinical interests include lymphoma and breast cancer.
