Dr. Sidhartha Pani’s Paintings Now on Display at Emerson Medical at Sudbury through October

8/2/2019

As part of its mission to keep the community healthy, Emerson Medical at Sudbury continues its art exhibit series to inspire wellness. The latest exhibit, “Out of Africa,” features paintings by Dr. Sidhartha Pani, Medical Director of Emerson Primary Care Associates of Sudbury. The series is based on his family’s experiences in Kenya and Tanzania, and the richness of wildlife in the Serengeti, Ngoro Ngoro, Amboseli and Masai Mara.

Dr. Pani, a resident of Newton, began painting nearly ten years ago as a way to nurture his creativity and fill a void when his son went to college. He believes there is a strong connection between his work as a physician and an artist. As he explains, “Painting gives me a way to connect with my patients on a personal level. Visits become more enjoyable when we talk about art, colors and images. I think my artwork helps me be a better person and physician.”

His paintings have been featured at the State House in Boston, and in shows and galleries throughout New England, New York, New Jersey, California, London and India. “Out of Africa” was curated by artist Jennifer Hart of Carlisle, who volunteers as a Gallery Instructor Associate at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The exhibit is located at Emerson Medical at Sudbury, Chiswick Office Park, 490 Boston Post Road, Sudbury. It is free and open to the public Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., through October 24, 2019.
