Experience
Ms. Kimura has 20 years of experience as a speech/language pathologist. In 1998, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in biopsychology and cognitive sciences. She earned a master’s degree in speech language pathology in 2001 and a PhD researching the neural bases of sentence processing in 2008, both from Boston University. Her experiences have been varied as she started her career working in the inpatient setting before transitioning to outpatient therapy. Her focus is to improve functional cognitive, language, and swallowing skills in adults with neurogenic disorders in order to maximize quality of life. She also is a certified voice therapist. More recently, her interested has been in working with patients with concussion-related deficits and post-COVID infections.
