Minimally-Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

Minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery offers a safe and effective alternative to traditional open surgery for many conditions affecting a woman’s reproductive tract.

Since minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery avoids a large abdominal incision, patients experience less pain, little to no scarring, a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.

Emerson Hospital’s gynecologic surgeons perform an array of today’s most advanced minimally-invasive surgical procedures, giving you access to expert care in a comfortable location that is close to home.

Hysteroscopy

The surgeon inserts a thin, lighted tube through the vagina and into the uterus. This procedure is used to diagnose uterine conditions, and the surgeon can insert other tools through the hysteroscope to perform procedures as needed.

Laparoscopy

A laparoscope is a fiber-optic tube with a tiny video camera on the end that projects images onto a monitor. The surgeon inserts the laparoscope through a tiny incision near the belly button and may make several other small incisions to allow for the use of other surgical tools.
