Abby Brayton-Chung

Abby Brayton-Chung, MS, OTR/L

Staff Occupational Therapist

Experience: Ms. Brayton-Chung graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. Prior to joining the Emerson team, she worked in a variety of pediatric settings, including early intervention, public and private schools, and an outpatient pediatric program. Ms. Brayton-Chung brings more than 10 years of pediatric experience to the Emerson team and is trained in the Sequential Oral Sensory (S.O.S.) Approach to Feeding. She is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, formerly serving on several committees, including past-moderator of the Feeding, Eating and Swallowing member forum.

Clinical Interests: Pediatric rehabilitation, concussion, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, pediatric feeding and eating difficulties


Marnie Deardorff, MS, OTR/L

Marnie Deardorff MS, OTR/L

Staff Occupational Therapist

Experience: Ms. Deardorff graduated from Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences with a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2002. Her undergraduate degree is in human development and health sciences from Penn State University. Prior to joining the outpatient therapy team at Emerson, she had 15 years of experience working in acute inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, where she specialized in the treatment of patients impacted with stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders and multi-trauma orthopedic injuries. Ms. Deardorff is certified in the Neuro-IFRAH® (Integrative Functional Rehabilitation and Habilitation) treatment approach for the management of adults with hemiplegia and has completed further coursework for advanced hand function and fine motor control within this framework.

Certifications: Neuro-IFRAH® certification in treatment and management of adults with hemiplegia

Clinical Interests: Adult neurological injuries and conditions with a focus on stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and concussion rehabilitation


Nicole Finch

Nicole Finch, MS OTR/L

Senior Therapist

Experience: Ms. Finch graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. Her undergraduate degree is in psychology from Stonehill College. Prior to joining the Emerson team, she worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, where she specialized in treating patients with brain injury, stroke, and multi-trauma orthopedic injuries. Nicole is proficient in use of Neuro-Developmental Treatment techniques, Kinesio Taping, rigid taping, Bioness NESS H200 hand rehabilitation system, Dynavision D2, and treatment of neurological-based visual deficits. She also has a background in assistive technology, and has presented at multiple conferences on "iPads: enhancing OT practice".

Certifications: Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology (UNH), H200 Bioness Hand Rehabilitation System

Clinical Interests: Adult neurological diagnoses with a focus on brain injury (traumatic and non-traumatic), concussion, and stroke rehabilitation


Laura Lizotte

Laura Lizotte, MS, OTR/L

Staff Occupational Therapist

Experience: Mrs. Lizotte graduated from Springfield College with a master’s degree in occupational therapy in 2005. Her undergraduate degree is in psychology from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to joining the Emerson team she worked in acute rehabilitation hospitals, where she specialized in treating spinal cord, stroke, traumatic brain and multi-trauma orthopedic injuries. She also has experience working in home care and skilled nursing facilities.

Clinical Interests: Adult neurological injuries with focus on brain injury, stroke and concussion rehabilitation


Chelsea Mello

Chelsea Mello, MS, OTR/L

Staff Occupational Therapist

Experience: Ms. Mello graduated from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University and specializes in pediatric occupational therapy. Ms. Mello received her undergraduate degree in psychology and minor in cognitive science at Trinity College. Prior to joining Emerson, she worked in several school-based programs with a wide range of diagnoses. Ms. Mello completed her fieldwork in an elementary school with a behavioral and emotional support program and in a pediatric outpatient center providing services to children from birth to 21 years of age. In the fall of 2015, Ms. Mello presented “Look aHEAD: Occupational Therapy’s Role in Concussion Management” with a colleague to the Massachusetts Association of Occupational Therapy. In addition to working at Emerson, Ms. Mello currently works per diem in a pediatric inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Ms. Mello is also involved in the pediatric rehabilitation program at Emerson.
