Revisional Bariatrics

As the field of bariatric surgery has evolved, many different surgical procedures have come and gone, each with their own set of risks and benefits. As a result, there are a number of bariatric surgical patients who later developed problems and need further care. While these problems are sometimes difficult to address, our Medical Director, David Lautz, MD, has developed a large revisional bariatric surgical practice and has substantial experience in handling the variety of issues that can occur.

If you have suffered problems from a previous bariatric surgery, our team is here to assist you. In most cases, these problems can be addressed with revisional bariatric surgical techniques, typically performed laparoscopically, even if the original surgery was an open procedure. However, performing revisional bariatric surgery for individuals who have regained weight is a more difficult decision to make and is not always possible.
