Critical Care Medicine

Emerson’s 14-bed Critical Care Unit (CCU) provides care for patients age 14 and older who require close monitoring or intensive medical care. The CCU is open 24x7.


Pulmonologists, cardiologists and intensivists work collaboratively with our hospitalists to co-manage patient care in the CCU. The unit is staffed by experienced and highly skilled nurses who have advanced training in critical care. Other clinical specialists consult as necessary.

CCU staff members recognize that families are important to the healing and recovery process. Health professionals work closely with family members to provide the best possible care to each patient.
