Millions of people have lung disease, which can make it difficult to breathe. To help with treatment, the Better Breathers Club at Emerson Hospital, an information and support group for people with lung disease and their family and friends, is continuing its 2016-2017 lecture series. The next session will take place on Thursday, November 17th from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Laura Frank, MD, an Emergency Medicine physician at Emerson Hospital, will provide information about what to expect when you need to go to the Emergency Department. Many patients with lung disease may need to visit the Emergency Department at some point to help control and alleviate symptoms of the disease. The lecture will be held at the Emerson Hospital Cheney B conference room, located near the main lobby of the hospital at 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner in Concord. The event is free and open to the public.
The Better Breathers Club is open to anyone who is living with lung disease and their family and friends. Lectures will continue on the third Thursday of the month from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Hospital. Upcoming topics include the benefits of exercise, good nutrition and cardiac health. There is no cost to participate and refreshments are provided. Many patients participate in the Better Breathers Club to help cope with lung disease.
