Better Breathers Lecture on Lung Disease: Eat Well, Breathe Better – March 17

2/26/2016

Millions of people have lung disease, which can make it difficult to breathe. To help with treatment, the Better Breathers Club at Emerson Hospital, an information and support group for people with lung disease and their family and friends, is continuing its 2015-2016 lecture series.  The next session will take place on Thursday, March 17 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Mayra Seyfarth, MS, RD, LDN, who is the Clinical Nutrition Manager at Emerson Hospital, will give a talk entitled: Eat Well, Breathe Better. She will discuss the importance of good nutrition to help people with lung disease breathe easier. The program will be held at the Emerson Hospital Cheney B conference room, located near the main lobby of the hospital at 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner in Concord.  The event is free and open to the public.

The Better Breathers Club is open to anyone who is living with lung disease and their family and friends. Lectures will continue on the third Thursday of the month from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Hospital. Upcoming topics include understanding your pulmonary medications and what to expect if you need to visit the Emergency Department.  There is no cost to participate and refreshments are provided. Many patients participate in the Better Breathers Club to help cope with lung disease.
