Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital to Host Tree of Lights – December 4

Annual Holiday Event to Benefit Newborns at the Clough Birthing Center

Nearly thirty years ago, the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital began lighting the large evergreen tree outside the main entrance during the holiday season to honor loved ones and significant people who have touched lives.  The tradition is continuing this year with the annual Tree of Lights ceremony on Monday, December 4 at 4:30 p.m. The community is invited to participate and attend this time-honored tradition.

A brief ceremony will take place at Emerson Hospital in the Cheney Conference Room, off of the main hallway of the hospital. The Holy Family Parish Hand Bell Choir of Concord will provide musical interludes. Following the ceremony, attendees will take a brief walk outside for the tree lighting.

The public is invited to donate a light on the tree in honor or in memory of a loved one, or to commemorate a special event, such as the birth of a baby, an anniversary, or other life milestone. All donations will enhance the advanced, quality care in Emerson Hospital’s Clough Birthing Center, which the Auxiliary chose as a meaningful way to symbolize the holiday season of joy and hope.

Those who are honored and those who donate are recognized in the Auxiliary’s Tree of Lights Tribute Book which will be on display in Emerson Hospital’s chapel throughout the holiday season.  Donors may sponsor a light that will be displayed on the tree for $20.00.  Please contact The Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital at 978-287-3019 with questions or visit Free parking will be provided for those attending. Refreshments will be served at the event.

This season’s Tree of Lights is chaired by Deb Van Walsum of Carlisle.  The Auxiliary wishes to thank the generous sponsors of the event:  Presenting Sponsor CareOne at Concord, and Supporting Sponsors Dee Funeral Home and McWalter Volunteer Insurance Agency.
