Emerson Hospital’s Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies is pleased to announce that it now offers physical therapy services on-site to athletes of all abilities at Skill of Strength in North Chelmsford. Emerson’s renowned physical therapists (PTs) will treat student, college, professional and weekend warrior athletes at Skill of Strength using the latest techniques and movement assessments to help return injured athletes and active adults to the top of their game. In addition, John Cahoy, MD, PhD, renowned pediatric orthopedic surgeon who is affiliated with Emerson Hospital, will be available in his Westford office for student athletes who need an orthopedic assessment.
Skill of Strength is a premium fitness facility in Chelmsford with more than 6,000 square feet of turf field, rubber flooring and the latest exercise equipment used by top athletes in every sport. Many student and professional athletes rely on the facility and its expert strength and conditioning coaches to enhance their athletic performance. Now, when athletes become injured or are not able to perform at their best, Emerson Hospital’s physical therapists work with them right at the gym to assess their issues and return them to their highest performance levels.
“We are proud to deliver the trusted Emerson model and highest standard of physical therapy to athletes at Skill of Strength,” said Terrie Enis, Director of Rehabilitation, Emerson Hospital. “This new program makes it extra convenient for members to be treated – they can spend more time recovering from their injuries and get back into the game since they will not need to commute to their PT appointments and can be conveniently assessed by a top pediatric orthopedic surgeon. They will have access to professional trainers and Emerson clinicians right in the fitness facility – providing them with everything they need in one location for a true sports therapy program.”
“Athletes of all types come to Skill of Strength to perform their best,” said Mike Perry, Founder and Co-owner, Skill of Strength. “However, there are scenarios where physical therapy is appropriate, and now members can receive the highest quality PT right at our gym. With Emerson’s sports therapists and pediatric orthopedic surgeon on our team, athletes can receive the clinical help necessary to reduce pain, improve function and optimize their performance so they can recover fully. This relationship will bridge the gap between performance and rehabilitation to help our members return to their best as soon as possible.”
