Free Workshop about Autism Spectrum - October 23

Learn from Emerson Hospital’s Rehabilitative Team  How to Help Those with ASD


Has a loved one been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)? Are you a teacher or caregiver of a child with ASD? Join members of Emerson Hospital’s Rehabilitative team on Tuesday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. for “Collaborative Therapeutic Approaches for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum,” an important discussion about ASD and ways to help children make good progress and meet their physical, emotional and educational goals. Speech and language, physical and occupational therapists from Emerson will present.  

Topics will include: Social skills, daily living skills, improving endurance, functional vision and motor planning, receptive and expressive communication, therapeutic, leisure and transition resources in the community, sports and recreational activities and transitions from school into adulthood. 

The workshop will be held at the Lawrence Academy Performing Arts Center, 26 Powderhouse Road in Groton. It is free and open to the public. Parents, grandparents, pediatricians, teachers and anyone who works with children are welcome to attend. There will be light refreshments and free parking.
