Better Breathers Lecture on Lung Disease – April 19

Millions of people have lung disease, which can make it difficult to breathe. To help with treatment, the Better Breathers Club at Emerson Hospital, a support and information group for people with lung disease and their family and friends, is continuing its 2018 lecture series. The next session will take place on Thursday, April 19th from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

How often do you have a medical test, such as a PFT (pulmonary function test) and do not fully understand the results and their meanings? Respiratory therapists at Emerson, Mindy Barra-Micillie and Wayne Goins, will help you understand the purpose and results of your pulmonary function test. The lecture will be held at the Emerson Hospital Cheney B conference room, located near the main lobby of the hospital at 133 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner in Concord. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Better Breathers Club is open to anyone who is living with lung disease and their family and friends. Through May 2018 interactive lectures take place every third Thursday of the month from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Hospital.  The final session of the series will be held May 17. There is no cost to participate. Many patients participate in the Better Breathers Club to help cope with lung disease.
