EmerSong – An A Cappella Festival on February 29 to Benefit Emerson Hospital Program for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery
The Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital is pleased to present its fourth annual EmerSong – an A Cappella Festival – to benefit Emerson Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services. The community is invited to attend EmerSong on Saturday, February 29 from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 51 Walden Street in Concord. Emerson Hospital Launches Community Benefit Awards Program
Emerson Hospital is pleased to announce the recipients of its first Community Benefit Awards. Based on a comprehensive application and review process, eighteen non-profit organizations throughout the health system’s service area were awarded up to $5,000 each to expand their programs that serve the physical and mental health needs of the community. The organizations were chosen based on Emerson’s most recent Community Health Needs Assessment and address at least one of the following populations or health issues: At-risk adolescents, older adults, cancer prevention and care, mental health or domestic violence.

How A Simple Screening Saved Paul’s Life
A simple lung screening saved Paul Carter’s life. Four years ago, when Paul was 61, Dr. James Cohen, his primary care physician at Westford Internal Medicine, recommended he receive an annual LDCT (Low Dose CT) test – a lung CT scan that takes a detailed picture of the lungs to detect cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage. Paul was a smoker for 45 years but he had no symptoms of lung cancer or other diseases.
