The Parkinson’s support group provides information and emotional support for Parkinson’s patients, their caregivers and family members. LSVT BIG and LOUD Parkinson’s Program

The LSVT BIG and LOUD program at Emerson’s Clough Family Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies is an exciting research-based exercise approach that is proven effective in treating people with Parkinson’s disease and other similar movement disorders.

LSVT stands for “Lee Silverman Voice Treatment,” and it was developed in the 1980s with funding from the family of a Parkinson’s patient (Lee Silverman) to improve her ability to communicate. It proved so effective in treating people with Parkinson’s disease that today it is a key offering at hundreds of hospitals around the nation—including here at Emerson Hospital. Plus, it now includes a component to help with the movement disorder aspects of Parkinson’s disease.
