Stroke, traumatic brain injuries and concussion, functional neurological disorders, degenerative diseases (Parkinson’s disease, ALS, multiple sclerosis), vestibular rehabilitation, post-polio syndrome, amputee gait training, balance and fall prevention
Ms. Sanchez Junkin graduated from the MGH Institute of Health Professions with her doctorate in physical therapy in 2016. Prior to that she completed her bachelor’s in psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining Emerson Hospital, she worked in the outpatient neurology team at Spaulding Rehabilitation where she was a member of the multidisciplinary team at the International Rehab Center for Polio. She has experience working with people with neurological and vestibular conditions as well as lower extremity bracing. She achieved board certification as a clinical specialist in neurology through the American Physical Therapy Association in 2019. In addition to her clinical practice, Ms. Sanchez Junkin also has an interest in clinical education and teaches physical therapy students at the MGH Institute of Health Professions.
