Ms. Mistretta is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a licensed speech-language pathologist in Massachusetts. She graduated from University of Vermont with a bachelor’s in communication sciences and disorders followed by a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from MGH Institute of Health Professions. Ms. Mistretta has experience working with both children and adults in outpatient clinic, public school, and inpatient hospital settings. Prior to joining Emerson’s team, she worked with primarily military families in a pediatric outpatient clinic in El Paso, Texas, focusing on autism spectrum disorders, fluency disorders, speech sound disorders, and developmental language delays and disorders. Ms. Mistretta has particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of fluency disorders (stuttering), including completion of an honors thesis in 2015 investigating clinical indicators of persistent stuttering.
