Experience
Ms. Dixon Keilty graduated in 2001 from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University. Prior to coming to work for Emerson Hospital, Kristen worked in acute rehabilitation of acquired brain injury at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital. She was a staff occupational therapist on the Emerson Transitional Care Unit from 2004-2012. In 2012, Kristen transitioned to the outpatient department to assist in the development of the Keys to Independence driver assessment program, which she continues to run at the Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies. She spent three years working with the Robert C. Cantu Concussion Center treating patients with concussion and post-concussion syndrome. Kristen is a Massachusetts certified driver instructor and a driver rehabilitation specialist and lectures to graduate students of occupational therapy about driver assessment, driver rehabilitation, and driver retirement. She has participated in lectures and panel sessions at local councils on aging, the Liberty Alzheimer’s Partnership, and the Massachusetts Older Driver Safety Summit. In 2016, Kristen gave the opening presentation to the New England Traffic Educator’s Association entitled “Driving and Post-Concussion Syndrome”.
