Community Events

Emerson Hospital hosts and provides support for a wide range of public events, including lectures, community health fairs, educational programs and more — many low-cost or free and all locally accessible.

Digital Wellness Program

In partnership with Turning Life On, a local grassroots movement, Emerson has created a digital wellness program to help raise awareness of the many impacts that electronic devices have on youth today. We also seek to provide research-backed advice that empowers families to make healthy choices about digital media use.

Youth Risk Behavior Survey

This Emerson-sponsored biennial survey of public school students provides insight on timely topics, and helps health coordinators and school administrators set school health and health promotion goals.

Community Needs Assessment

Emerson Hospital has undertaken a Community Health Needs Assessment to better understand and address the health needs of the Emerson Hospital community.

Community Health Benefits Advisory Group

The Emerson Hospital Community Benefits Advisory Group is an advisory committee to the board of directors. It assists the board in overseeing the organization’s responsibilities to the communities it serves.

Community Benefit Report

The Emerson Hospital Community Benefit Program builds on the hospital’s history of commitment to the community and the core values of providing care to all regardless of ability to pay. The implementation of the program is the responsibility of our Community Benefits and Events Coordinator, under the supervision of the Senior Vice President for Planning and Chief Strategy Officer. Individual departments and clinical areas within the hospital provide detailed information on programs and activities that comply with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office Community Benefits Guidelines.
