As part of its focus on providing high-quality healthcare to the community, which includes creative arts to inspire wellness, Emerson Medical at Sudbury is continuing its Art Exhibit series. The latest exhibit features colorful mixed media drawings and watercolor paintings created by the talented artist Joyce McJilton Dwyer of Maynard. The exhibit is on display through April 18, 2018 on multiple levels of Emerson’s medical office building located at 490 Boston Post Road, Route 20 in Chiswick Park, Sudbury.
Ms. Dwyer grew up on a farm in the Midwest where she developed her love of landscape and the beauty of nature. Barns and other farm structures, while disappearing from today’s landscapes, feature significantly in her paintings. She takes inspiration from the fields, rivers and ponds of Sudbury and other local areas. A former human resources professional at Emerson Hospital, Joyce studied art at Michigan State University and the DeCordova Museum School. She teaches watercolor in Carlisle.
The exhibit was curated by Jennifer Hart, artist and gallery instructor with the Museum of Fine Arts – Boston, and a resident of Carlisle. The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. All works are for sale.
