Emerson Hospital Offers Strength and Flexibility Class to Reduce Pain

8/30/2016

The Emerson Wellness Center for Mind and Body is offering a unique class called Heal Yourself at Home: Increase Flexibility and Strength While Reducing Pain, starting September 13.  Between the workouts and aging, there is a gap that is often not filled – stretching and releasing your body in ways that feel wonderful.  Releasing pain, tightness and stress can be done easily in your own home, and once you know these tools, they will help prevent larger, more serious problems.

The Heal Yourself at Home class meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Taught by Valerie Eagan, RPT, the class is appropriate for anyone who is suffering from aches and pains. Participants will meet at the Emerson Wellness Center for Mind and Body, located at 310 Baker Avenue in Concord, near the new Residence Inn hotel. Free parking is available in the office park. The cost is $90 per person for a six-week session. Drop-in  rates are available. Participants should bring a yoga mat and a medium exercise ball, which is available for purchase at the class.
