The Rising Opioid Epidemic in our Community – A Community Forum on May 16

4/14/2016

Now, more than ever, our communities are struggling with prescription drug abuse and opioid addiction. To help educate the community, Emerson Hospital is sponsoring a free public forum: The Rising Opioid Epidemic in our Community — An Evening about Prevention, Collaboration and Education on Monday, May 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The forum will be held at the Concord-Carlisle High School Auditorium, 500 Walden Street in Concord.

Participants will learn how prescription drug abuse and opioid addiction affects all members of our community; the facts about the disease of addiction; trends in our community; options for treatment; the realities of recovery; and how community prevention is a vital component of the solution.

Local prevention and treatment experts, people in recovery, law enforcement, and family members who have been impacted by opioid addiction will be speaking. The community forum is open to everyone — no reservations are required. For questions and information, please email: OpioidForum@emersonhosp.org.
