Reflections in Bloom: Elegant Auxiliary Event Supports Emerson Hospital Pediatric Intervention Team

6/22/2016

Recently, the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital presented an elegant evening event, Reflections in Bloom, hosted at the Powers Gallery, Acton.  Spring was in full bloom with fresh floral creations by nine talented local designers, inspired by the gallery’s fine art collection.  Also featured was a unique opportunity to watch artists Harley Bartlett and Jeanne Rosier Smith complete original paintings; these works of art were offered in a live auction.  Other evening highlights were a silent auction with Lawrence Powers serving as auctioneer, a raw bar donated by Woods Hill Table, dessert donated by Bisousweet Confections, wine, and live music.

Over $13,000 was raised at the event, with all proceeds benefiting the Pediatric Intervention Team at Emerson Hospital.  The Pediatric Intervention Team is an integral part of pediatric care at Emerson, providing for the emotional well being of children encountering the hospital experience.  Auxiliary President, Betty Ann Killian of Concord, reflected on the evening saying, "The outstanding success of this event demonstrates the Auxiliary’s long-standing commitment to the work of the Pediatric Intervention Team. We are grateful for all they accomplish with our youngest patients.”

Reflections in Bloom was co-chaired by Pat Fleischauer of Acton and Anna Travias of Concord.  The Auxiliary wishes to thank the generous sponsors of this event: Christine and Douglas Schuster, Barrett Sotheby’s, the Haartz Corporation, the Colonial Inn, Concord OB/GYN, Idylwilde Farms, Pedal Power & Ski, the Westford Regency, Acton Toyota, Leslie Cheney, Goldfish Swim School, and Little Sprouts.
