Emerson Hospital To Open Urgent Care Center in Hudson

10/27/2016

Emerson Hospital announced today that it will be opening Emerson Urgent Care at Hudson in January, 2017.  This will be Emerson’s first urgent care center and it will be located in the Shops at Highland Commons, 38 Highland Commons East on the Hudson/Berlin line.

“We are very excited to bring the excellent care that Emerson is known for directly to people who live and work in the greater Hudson community,” said Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson Hospital. “The opening of our first urgent care center is an important part of Emerson’s strategy to serve the health care needs of our community in a way that is convenient and easy for patients and families.”

Emerson Urgent Care at Hudson will be staffed by physicians and offer patients expert care for minor illnesses and injuries, including sore throats, cuts, stitches, ear and eye infections, simple fractures, flu symptoms, minor burns, animal bites, rashes and allergic reactions.

The center will provide access to Emerson’s high quality clinical care and laboratory, X-ray and EKG services and will be open convenient hours seven days a week with free, dedicated parking. No appointment will be necessary and patients will have short wait times, with the ability to request a time for care via an online site or by using a mobile device. Most insurances will be accepted and an insurance referral is not needed to receive care.

“As the local population continues to grow, the need for a high quality, convenient urgent care is critical to keeping our community healthy,” said Scott Duplisea, Chair of the Board of Selectman, Hudson. “Emerson Hospital is the gold standard for care in the community and we are extremely pleased that it is opening Emerson Urgent Care at Hudson.  When the center opens, the advanced care that the hospital is renowned for will be even more accessible to everyone who lives and works in the area.”

The center is purpose-built with patient care at the forefront of the design. Emerson selected noted architects and the hospital’s long-time design partner, Levi Wong of Concord, for the project.  The hospital is working with JM Coull Inc. of Maynard to build the urgent care center.

Located off Route 62 (Coolidge Street), the Shops at Highland Commons provides easy access off Route 495 and draws people who live and work in Hudson, Berlin, Sudbury, Bolton, Stow, Clinton Marlboro and Framingham.  It is one of the largest open-air shopping centers in central Massachusetts. Other tenants of Highland Commons include Market Basket, Lowe’s, BJ’s, Cabela’s, TJ Maxx, Michaels, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pet Smart, Famous Footwear and local restaurants.
